So, just a brief word about the State of the Union. I didn't want to watch. I was worried I'd be disappointed. I was afraid our fearless leader would bow down to pressure. But he didn't. Like any good parental unit, he chastised our bickering elected officials who are accomplishing nothing. He took a paternal tone and let them have it. Both Sides. Both Barrels. I may not agree with all his policies, but he showed true leadership. Very Rooseveltesque.

And today, there was a 70-30 vote to confirm Bernanke. Coincidence? I think not.

I know the buzz today is all about Amy Winehouse. Yeah. I'm sorry she made bad choices too. But in Norway 93 or more people who made good choices are also gone. And will be sorely missed. Funny thing about Funny Bones

My favorite snack cake growing up was a Funny Bone. Wrapped in silver foil, like a Ring Ding, but shaped like a Yodel, and filled with this awesome peanut butter cream. Truth? It wasn't real cream, or real peanut butter, and who knows what kind of crap was used to make the most horribly delicious food ever. A few years ago I had an awful craving, actually... more like 10 years ago. I haven't eaten sugar in close to nine years. But back to my story. I went online, and to my utter delight, Gristedes in New York would ship me as many boxes of my childhood obsession as I wanted. I ordered like 7 boxes. I wanted my husband to try them. I wanted my girls to experience the sugary rush of awesomeness. Back then, I had no idea it was so deadly. And now I do. The lunatics are in the Hall...

Here in Arizona we have a problem. The lunatics are in the hall. First, they are shutting down our educational system one giant step at a time. Destroying our children's future. Wasting our taxpayer dollars and then blaming the taxpayers. And punishing the kids. It's immoral, indecent, and insane. Now the crazies in Phoenix have passed SB 1070. The most ridiculous, scary, immigration bill ever. And costly. I am going to state at the outset, yes, we need immigration reform, and we need border security. We need to quell the influx of drug runners and criminal border crossers. Having said that, this law is absurd, bordering on fascist. If you don't look American, then you might just get stopped on the sidewalk and asked for your papers. Yeah. Be careful when you come down and visit our beautiful sunny state. Wear lots of sunblock.
